Canadian Winter Explorers

January to March Annually

The Winter Explorers program offers students a rare opportunity to experience the magic of a true Canadian winter while engaging in hands-on, values-driven learning. Set in the stunning landscapes of British Columbia, this program blends outdoor adventure, cultural discovery, and personal growth in one unforgettable journey.

Students explore iconic winter destinations, including Whistler Blackcomb, one of the world’s most celebrated ski resorts and the official alpine venue of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Against this awe-inspiring backdrop, participants take part in a wide range of seasonal activities such as snowshoeing, tubing, and ice skating, that are deeply connected to Canada’s history and culture. Specifically, snowshoeing has been a vital part of Canadian Indigenous and early settler life, representing resilience and a close relationship with nature. These unique winter experiences make this program a truly special opportunity to engage with nature and culture in a way few others can offer.

Every element is intentionally designed to support the development of confidence, resilience, and teamwork. Students are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, embrace new challenges, and reflect on their experiences in a guided and supportive environment. Group discussions, debriefs, and moments of quiet reflection help deepen learning and connect each activity to broader themes of self-awareness, intercultural understanding, and environmental appreciation.
Rooted in 2 Degrees Travel’s core philosophy, Winter Explorers offers students a unique opportunity to grow emotionally, socially, and intellectually through adventure. Whether encountering snow for the first time or building on previous outdoor experience, participants return home with a stronger sense of self, deeper global awareness, and lasting memories of the natural beauty and cultural richness of Canada in winter.
