Position Overview:
Seeking a passionate and results-oriented Program Manager to lead and deliver our 14-day educational programs in Vancouver. The ideal candidate will align with our core values of Learning, Growth, Stewardship, Leadership, and Impact demonstrating a deep commitment to experiential education and cross-cultural understanding.

Employment Type:  Part Time, Contract, Seasonal.  Compensation Based on Experience

Location: Remote and in Person (June 9-22, 2025)

Place-Based Educator Key Responsibilities: 

  • Program Development: Design and develop engaging, place-based educational programs that focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship.
  • Field Instruction: Lead students on educational trips, providing hands-on learning experiences that highlight local ecological and cultural contexts.
  • Curriculum Integration: Work with academic institutions to integrate sustainability-focused educational travel into their curricula.
  • Community Engagement: Foster relationships with local communities to ensure programs are culturally respectful and beneficial.
  • Sustainable Practices: Promote and model sustainable practices in all aspects of educational travel, from transportation to daily activities.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement assessment tools to measure the impact and effectiveness of programs on students’ learning and environmental awareness.
  • Networking: Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, environmental organizations, and community leaders to enhance program offerings and reach.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Education or related field
  • Certified BC Teacher or Certified Outdoor Recreation Guide
  • Experience in teaching abroad, outdoor education, or environmental education
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable practices and environmental issues.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, interactive educational content.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups & non-profit sector
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification required
  • Standard Wilderness First Aid preferred
  • All selected candidates are required to submit a current criminal record check
  • Interest in Photography/storytelling to capture moments and facilitate social media campaigns

Communications Responsibilities:

  • Be a speaker the face of company and engage with local schools to serve, make global stewardship education fun and share 2 Degrees mission
  • Create a series of webinars to serve community – lead with connection & care
  • Online webinars going over program details, orientation and information sessions
  • Provide content for digital & paper communications
