Work Integrated Learning Overview:  The Marketing & Communications Representative is responsible for leading, guiding and ensuring safety of a school group, create social media content, build online brand presence and execute the communications plan on social media platforms, email campaigns, blogs and website content updates.  The in-person portion of the role from June 9-22, 2025 involves building a fun and exciting relationship with the school group taking them to and from many of Vancouver’s iconic sites ranging from local schools to tourist attractions.  The remote portion is executing the 2 Degrees Travel Communications plan on the relevant social media platforms.

Employment Type:  WIL, Part Time, Contract (In-Person June 9-22, 2024) Compensation TBD based on Experience

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead international school group ensuring safety in and around top Vancouver sites with their base located in North Vancouver
  • Proficient with programs like Canva to create print & digital marketing material is required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows applications
  • Craft compelling content for various channels, including newsletters, social media, email campaigns, promotional materials.
  • Maintain and update the company’s website with fresh, engaging & SEO efficient content.
  • Support with internal teams to create impactful communication campaigns that highlight programs’ unique value propositions.
  • Monitor and analyze communications metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven decisions.
  • Support execution of events, webinars, workshops to engage with community and promote programs
  • Request for online reviews from past participants

                                           

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or any related field
  • Proven experience in communications or similar role, preferably in the travel or education sectors
  • 1+ experience managing and leading teams and groups
  • Proficient in content management systems, social media platforms and marketing tools
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience in non-profit sector an asset
  • Interest in Photography/videography/storytelling to capture moments and facilitate social media campaigns

Requirements:

A student placement report which is a letter from an approved post-secondary institution with the following criteria:

  • Confirmation of Communications/Marketing/Public Relations/Tourism related Program Name & Registration
  • Date of Report
  • Confirmation Student is Domestic
  • Student is Enrolled at time of Placement
  • Student is Completing a Work Integrated Learning component of the program.
